What’s Next For Pozi: Meet the Team Leading the Way
Pozi has entered a new chapter.
A joint venture now owns the platform, and with it comes a team focused on building on what councils already rely on while taking Pozi somewhere new.
This Thursday you can meet that team. We are running a live webinar where the people now leading Pozi will introduce themselves, walk through the roadmap, and take you through a guided walkthrough of Site Manager, the new tool that puts GIS teams in direct control of their Pozi site. Here is what to expect, and why it is worth an hour of your Thursday morning.
The people now behind Pozi
The team brings together people from across Pozi, MNG and Chartis Technology, covering operations, product, growth and technology.
Chris Scott, General Manager Operations at Pozi. Chris has more than 20 years in IT and GIS, leading teams across both commercial and open-source geospatial software. He heads up the Innovation, Technology and Development Team at MNG and has spent the past 17 years delivering GIS solutions for local government across Australia.
Andrew Jeffrey, Product Manager at Pozi. Andrew brings close to 20 years in the spatial industry, spanning data collection, analysis, system design and implementation. He is a long-standing advocate for open-source software, and he now owns Pozi’s product direction. If you have ever wondered who decides what gets built next, that is Andrew.
Dave Bullen, Business Development Manager WA at MNG. Dave leads business development across MNG’s five business units and 140-plus staff, drawing on more than ten years in sales, marketing and business development across construction, property and facilities management.
Matt Robinson, Technical Director at Chartis Technology. Matt leads the technical and software development teams at Chartis Technology, with experience across local, state and federal government, mining, utilities and telco. He has led the build of an enterprise asset management system built on spatial technology and is an active supporter of open-source communities.
Between them they hold the full picture of where Pozi is heading, and Thursday is your chance to hear it from each of them directly.
The roadmap
The webinar will walk through the roadmap across four stages. In plain terms:
Now is about consolidating site management. The focus is consistent data in Pozi, better site allocation and visibility, and giving users access to their own site configuration.
Next brings QGIS project management into the configuration database, validates projects when they publish, and targets the third party integrations councils already use, including Altitude, Pathway UX and Metrix.
Future moves Pozi into a cloud environment, with a cloud hosted customer database, a cloud managed QGIS Server, and publishing tools that run in the cloud.
Horizon is a full platform that suits both local government and non local government clients, with self registration, resource provisioning, and a customer API for publishing and editing.
The main event: a guided walkthrough of Site Manager
Site Manager is the centrepiece of this webinar and the work the team is focused on right now. It gives GIS administrators direct control over their Pozi site, so you can make changes yourself rather than raising a request for every update.
In the walkthrough you will see how Site Manager lets you:
• manage who can access your site
• build and manage maps for different teams, projects or the public, on top of your standard enterprise and public maps
• set each map’s logo, extent, disclaimer and boundaries, and connect your own QGIS projects, basemaps and imagery
• track site usage and export it for your own reporting
Because this is a guided walkthrough rather than a quick preview, you will see Site Manager in action and how it fits into your day to day, with the team on hand to answer your questions as you go.
